I'm a senior engineering leader with 15+ years building software across B2B SaaS, fintech, and regulated industries. I help founders and executives turn ambitious ideas into scalable, well-architected systems — and the teams that can ship and sustain them.

I've spent 15+ years building for the web — from scrappy startups to regulated industries where the stakes are real — fintech, and SaaS platforms earning SOC 2 and other compliance regimes. I've built and led the engineering teams behind those systems, standing up the architecture, automation-first quality practices, and CI/CD that let regulated products ship fast — because compliance should be designed in, not bolted on. If your business lives where shipping speed meets an auditor, that's where I do my best work.

Right now, the biggest leverage I bring is AI — and not just as a product feature. I help companies build an AI strategy for the whole business: how it fits your product, yes, but also how it changes the way your company works — engineering, operations, support, and the everyday workflows that quietly eat your team's hours. Together we find where AI genuinely pays off, where it doesn't belong, and how to adopt it without betting the business on hype — and then I stay to execute. That's the promise of fractional leadership: the architecture call that saves months, the process change that doubles throughput, the executive judgment that usually costs a full-time salary — on your terms. I stay hands-on, I communicate plainly, and I deliver.

What I bring

Engineering leadership

Hiring, mentoring, and running engineering orgs — as a fractional CTO, an interim leader, or embedded with your team.

Web platforms

System and API design for B2B SaaS — the architecture decisions that keep you shipping fast as you scale.

Data pipelines

Ingestion to insight: pipelines and models that turn raw sources — even piles of PDFs — into dashboards leaders act on.

AI enablement

AI worked into development, testing, and review where it genuinely multiplies a team — and left out where it doesn't.

Quality engineering

Automation-first testing and shift-left strategy that make speed and reliability the same thing, not a tradeoff.

Regulated delivery

Regulated-industry-grade practices — compliance designed into the system and the pipeline, not bolted on at the end.

Experience

A track record of shipping and scaling

The environments matter more than the logos. These are the sectors where I've built, led, and shipped — and what each one demanded.

Regulated Industries

Regulated-industry platforms, where the quality bar and the audit trail aren't optional.

  • Built and led engineering teams through regulated-industry, compliance-aware delivery.
  • Designed compliance into systems and pipelines instead of bolting it on at the end.

Government & Public Sector

Data pipelines and dashboards that turn statutory mandates into measurable progress.

  • Processed Iowa's Administrative Code into regulatory-reduction metrics for Executive Order 10.
  • Built the dashboards key state leaders use to track agencies quarter over quarter.

Fintech

Systems where correctness, auditability, and uptime are the product.

  • Shipped and scaled platforms where accuracy and reliability were non-negotiable.
  • Brought quality-first engineering practices to fast-moving financial products.

B2B SaaS

From early-stage builds to scale — product engineering, platform architecture, and the teams behind them.

  • Took products from startup pace to sustainable velocity.
  • Owned architecture and delivery across the product lifecycle.
